Who Are Our Masks For?

We are offering complimentary masks to anyone in your life who is a front line worker or has a health status that puts them at higher risk if they acquire COVID. Our masks might be for you if you’re over 65 or you have an underlying health condition. They might also be for you if you're living with someone with risk factors, and you're trying to keep them safe by taking extra precautions yourself.

Face Mask Request Form

What We’re Up to

Are you hibernating in the Greater Toronto Area? This offer might be for you!

Have you been trying to figure out how to challenge that helpless COVID feeling with action, community, and gratitude - us too! We've landed on a reusable facemask project; we're going to be wearing masks for a while so, let's make them fabulous. Our masks are more comfortable and kind to sensitive skin than paper, they reduce waste, and they are certainly going to be a hot fashion trend for spring. Some nurses, PSWs and paramedics are testing them in the community for transit and shopping, and we've made some modifications based on their feedback.

Materials & Sizing

The masks have an outer shell made from a 100% cotton meant for quilting. The exterior and the lining are styled with complementary patterns and colours. We love making them bright and cheerful, but there are some neutral colour combos too. The inside that you don't see has several layers of non-woven polyester fabric to provide a bit of filtering, and an adjustable, aluminum nose bridge. They are available in adults small and large, and children's size small (2-7 years) and large (7-12 years). Adult masks have 12 inch ties at the neck and 15 inch ties for over the head. Children's sizes have woven elastic that loops behind the ears.

Want to Help?

Donations of any kind are appreciated. We've had generous donations of cotton quilting fabric and notions, driving delivery runs, postage, and funds. We use the financial contributions to purchase more materials; it keeps us in interfacing, which we order from Quebec. Drop us a line via email if you think you can help.

Deprivation From Physical Touch Makes COVID Worse

Practical Everyday Coping Strategies Learn about what touch deprivation does to your brain, body, and mood. We'll practice clever movement, breathing, and mindfulness activities to access your nervous and hormone systems. This kind of work improves mood, sleep, alertness, and stress caused by COVID isolation.

COMMING SOON JULY 2020 (1).png

We're mammals!

Sometimes, we forget that fact. Our wellbeing is dependant on our community and relationships. Regular physical touch, even when it comes from professional services like massage and physiotherapy, calms our nervous systems and stress responses and changes the stress hormones and neurotransmitters we produce.

Our goal is to deliver a little bit of science and practical strategies you can use at home, in your pyjamas, to connect you to your body and get those feel-good chemicals flowing in your brain. While we're all together, we'll talk about self-care, and practice voice, breathwork, and movement. Questions and participation are welcome and encouraged, but not necessary if you're shy.
